Posted standby was 25 minutes, but the wait was actually 35 minutes. I loved the Slinky Dog headband, and of course the Toy Story Land pins.Īt 8:00 PM, I entered the line for Alien Swirling Saucers. This surprised me, although DHS has several larger stores near the front of the park where I bet this merchandise can also be found. There were 2 merchandise carts but no dedicated store. The ride itself seemed the same but still very enjoyable.Īfter Toy Story Mania, I walked further into Toy Story Land. One important note – for my FastPass line, we had to go up some stairs and walk over the track, then go back down to the loading platform It looks like there’s a separate entrance for people in wheelchairs. There were so many fun retro toys on display – Uno cards, Tinker Toys, Ants in the Pants. Sometime, I’ll go through the standby line, because the queue looked amazing. The Cast Members (CMs) running the 2 attractions referred to guests as “toys”. The Green Army Men were walking around, welcoming everyone to Andy’s backyard and posing for photos. Scrabble tiles spell out “RESTROOMS”, and stacked building blocks spell out “BOYS” and “GIRLS” at the entrances. Everything is proportionally sized accordingly, as if we are all small toys (similar to the proportions of Bugs Land at Disney California Adventure).Įvery inch of space was considered in the design of this land.īenches are made of dominoes and popsicle sticks.
The premise of the land is that all guests are toys moving through Andy’s backyard. This photographer had such great energy, she even surprised me with a selfie of both of us!Īs I moved into Toy Story Land, I was drawn in by the vibrant primary colors and Disney’s excellent attention to detail. I saw PhotoPass photographers there and no line, so I stopped and asked the PhotoPass photographer to take my photo with my iPhone, as well as her camera. As I approached the land’s entrance, I was greeted by a very tall Woody. I arrived solo in Toy Story Land on a Sunday evening around 7:30 PM (the park closed at 10:30 PM). So I went at dusk, and it was indeed the perfect time to go!
I had read that besides park opening, this is a good time to find shorter lines, especially around 9:00 PM when many park guests go watch Fantasmic! Also, I’d read that Toy Story Land is beautiful at night. Since I was only able to reserve a FastPass+ for Toy Story Mania, I decided to visit Toy Story Land in the evening.
While people wait for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to open later in 2019, this new land breathes some much-needed new life into this park. I love DHS, partly because Tower of Terror is one of my top 2 attractions at WDW. I am so happy that this park now has 2 more attractions (I’m not counting Toy Story Mania since it already existed) and 1 more counter service restaurant. Last weekend, I was thrilled to check out the newest addition to Walt Disney World – Disney’s Hollyw ood Studios (DHS) – Toy Story Land!
